Cruciate ligament lesions   [read the french version]
  Docteur Anne Thiescé
Knee sprains, in ballet, are identical to those found in the sporting world. They are relatively rare. They usually happen after a bad jump landing in valgus-flexion - external rotation.

The characteristics of the clinical examination are linked to ligamentous hyper-mobility with bilateral and symmetrical recurvatum and postero-lateral mobility.FIG:1.

Treatment is surgical in the majority of cases. However, in the case of an isolated lesion, it is permissible to suggest an intensive re-education first. Post-operative re-education is long and must be undertaken carefully.
